Lacrosse is a fast paced game with lots of running and a lot of strategy. It was first documented in the early 1700's, however it has been dated back to the early 12th century. It was first played as a kind of symbolic warfare between native tribes, and these games would consist of hundreds of people from their respected tribes. These games could last up to three days, and the field could be up to 3km long. Today, field lacrosse is played on an 110yd field, with 10 people on the field at a time. This includes one goalkeeper, 3 defensive players, 3 midfielders, and 3 attackmen. The play is often 6 vs 6, however if one team gets a penalty, there will be a 6 vs 5 opportunity. Field Lacrosse can be a very strategic game, with coaches often matching lines to specific players. If you would like to know more about Lacrosse, click here.
